עמי בן בסט. יזם, מנהל פרויקטים וסופר. בשנים האחרונות עוסק ומתמחה בהפקת אירועים ופורמטים בתחום החדשנות ומפגשים 'מהסוג היצירתי' עבור חברות הייטק, ארגונים ואקדמיה, לרבות מיט-אפים, סדנאות ואי-כנסים. נושא משרה (חלקית) בתכנית (MBA) ליזמות וחדשנות באוניב. תל אביב. וכאשר לא מסתכלים: כותב, מצלם, אסטרונום חובב וסקרן אובססיבי.

Ami Ben Bassat is a science writer, blogger, and innovation consultant. His writing covers a wide range of topics presented from a personal and unusual point of view. Rendezvous in the Milky Way (together with Hagai Netzer) is his third book. He has also written Journey to Intelligence (also with Hagai Netzer) and Odyssey in the Universe – A Scientific Journey into the Strange and Unknown.

His blog Edge (in Hebrew) in which he discussed topics as diverse as space, science and technology, history, and the Internet was launched in the early 2000s and was one of the most popular blogs in these fields in Israel at the time.

More recently, he has been running a blog called A World Without Boxes. When he is not writing, Ami is involved in producing creative events for hi-tech companies and academic institutions. He has held senior civil service positions which included consulting senior members of government and has consulted for large technology companies. He is also a teaching fellow in the Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation MBA program at Tel Aviv University. Ben Bassat considers himself a confirmed skeptic, and as a compulsively curious person he frequently travels to remote places in Israel and abroad to satisfy his passion for observing the unusual.
